Information about UN/UNF Adapters

Parker fittings according to the SAE standard with UN/UNF threads and O-Ring Boss ports are used to connect with UNF female threads. They are also known as O-Ring Boss (O.R.B.) connections. When correctly assembled, they offer a performance equal to the best leak-free port connections.
The sealing and retention functions are separated in this type of connection. The threads are only responsible for the retention function. The thread tolerances are larger between the female port and the male port, significantly reducing the risk of thread damage compared to, for example, NPT threads. The seal itself is created by an O-ring seal held in a specially designed chamfer on top of the male port. Under pressure, the O-ring seal closes off the only possible leakage path. The high compression of the seal ensures that the connection is leak-free at both low and high pressures.
Elastomer Seal
Straight UN/UNF thread O-ring connections according to the SAE standard offer high seal reliability, especially in dynamic applications with impulse stress. The O-ring seal has a high tolerance for minor surface flaws and damage.
Easiest Assembly
This design is very easy to assemble even for inexperienced personnel.
Very many installation options for shaped fittings
Due to the design of the shaped fittings with integrated, adjustable and straight SAE thread connections, there are countless installation options at the end of the female port. Alignment for tube and hose connections is significantly simplified compared to tapered threads.
Reusability
Since the sealing function is separate from the mechanical retention function, straight SAE male ports can be reused multiple times after simply replacing the O-ring.
