Adapters for Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS)

JIS adapters are commonly used as hose adapters on Japanese machinery or manufactured directly in Japan and Korea. The seal is created by a line contact between the surfaces of the interlocking 60° cones of the fitting and the hose end. These adapters are manufactured according to the JIS B8363 standard. Although the cone has the same angle as the BSPP 60° cone adapter, the two are not interchangeable. (Longer thread lengths on the adjustable JIS male thread cause the thread to bottom out before the seal is established on the corresponding BSPP fitting).
