General Information About the EO Weld Cones

The EO weld cone is welded to the tube end without an O-ring. Before doing so, it must not be forgotten to mount the union nuts in the correct size and orientation. Special guidelines and regulations may apply to the pre-treatment of the tube end, the welding procedure, the qualification of welders, the post-treatment, testing, and documentation of the weld connection.
EO weld cones can be assembled in any EO tube fitting. EO weld cones are available in all dimensions from 6–38/42 mm of the light and heavy series.
Low Requirements for Tube Quality
In contrast to flare or cutting ring connections, relatively low demands are placed on the dimensional accuracy and surface finish of the tubes. Weld cone connections can be used wherever precision tubes are not available.
Universal
EO weld cones can be combined with all EO fittings.
High Sealing Capacity
The elastomeric seal acts as the primary sealing element. Even low-viscosity media such as water or gases are hermetically sealed. Therefore, hydraulic lines do not "sweat" at the connection points.
Excellent Long-Term Behavior
The soft-sealed EO weld cone connection does not need to be retightened even after years of continuous operation under extreme conditions.
Failure Behavior
Inadequately assembled EO weld cone connections do not tear out without warning. They indicate the problem through leakage and can be retightened.
Repeated Assembly
EO weld cone connections can be loosened and reassembled as often as desired. The sensitive sealing surface of the fitting does not wear out or widen. Damaged seals can be easily replaced.
Reduced Notch Effect
Under extreme dynamic loads, commercially available weld cones tend to fatigue failure at the cross-section jump below the union nut. EO weld cones are less sensitive to this typical damage because the critical area is smoothed and strengthened in a special roller burnishing process.
Stress-Free Installation
Small deviations in bending and cutting the tubes to length can be easily compensated during welding. Stress-free tube routing prevents fatigue failures even under the most extreme conditions.
Universally Applicable
EO weld cones are suitable for all common welding procedures.
