Patented Positive-Lock Socket Retainer
The socket snaps into the patented positive-lock socket retainer (U.S. Patent 3,890,051) and is held until released. Since the retainer is connected to the tool via a spline, it can be serviced without disassembling the tool.
Assembly with Through Bolts Reduces Spare Part Costs
The steel output end and the motor, housing, and handle are connected by four high-strength steel bolts. This feature improves tool performance and eliminates stripped threads and loose parts inside the motor housing.
Forced Lubrication with Oil Foam Reduces the Most Common Maintenance Work on Impact Wrenches
Cleco impact wrenches use a unique oil foam bath that provides forced lubrication of the plunger, anvil, and other moving parts. The system is designed to shut off the tool if oil starvation occurs in the impact mechanism. This eliminates one of the main causes of impact wrench failure: inadequate lubrication. Simply refilling the oil makes the tool operational again. Other impact wrenches quickly lose grease and run dry, increasing wear and tear, thereby shortening the tool's lifespan and driving up maintenance costs.
Proven, Patented, Telescoping Impact Mechanism Increases Power, Reduces Weight, and Decreases User Shock Load
The soft-hitting telescoping impact mechanism of the Cleco wrenches is patented (U.S. Patent 3,156,3340). It consists of only three main components – plunger, anvil, and rotor – thus delivering more force directly to the fastener. The plunger is connected to the rotor via a spline. It strikes directly on the anvil, increasing the force transmitted with each blow.
