Clecomatic Nutrunners
Clecomatic nutrunners shut off as soon as the clutch reaches the set torque. This feature enables precise shut-off control without sacrificing tool speed. Fluctuations in operating pressure have little or no effect on the torque as long as the operating pressure is sufficient to trip the clutch.
Clecomatic nutrunners are also very well suited for reverse applications, because the clutch transmits a higher force in reverse rotation than in forward rotation.
Stall Nutrunners
Stall nutrunners work with an air motor that drives the output spindle via a planetary gear and an angle drive. The tool tightens the fastener until the increasing torque stops (stalls) the tool. When the tool stalls, the operator releases the trigger and lifts the tool away. Stall nutrunners can achieve accurate torque values, particularly in applications with varying torque rates. However, the operator and operating pressure fluctuations can easily influence the torque output. Operators must be instructed to allow the tool to stall before releasing the trigger. Furthermore, they should not pull the tool crookedly or turn it further by hand after stalling.
Stall nutrunners are recommended for applications where a light tool is needed or where the lack of accessibility to the fasteners makes the use of other tools impossible. They are not recommended for high-torque applications, unless it is possible to safely rest the tool so that the torque can be supported by a fixture or a part of the workpiece. This relieves the operator of the reaction torque.
Cleco's New Angle Nutrunner Solution
The Cleco Series 14, 24, and 34 pneumatic nutrunners represent the latest expansion of the product line of smaller, lighter, and faster tools. These powerful angle nutrunners with shut-off clutch are designed for fasteners from 0.5 to 75 and a torque range from 0.5 to 75 Nm.
The newly developed motor and an improved Clecomatic® clutch allow for higher cycle rates, less scrap, higher product quality, and fewer warranty claims that lead to costly rework.
Design
The new Cleco 24 and 34 angle nutrunner series operate with an innovative motor design that offers higher output power in a smaller housing. This design contributes significantly to achieving our goals – smaller, lighter, faster – and ensures the best power-to-weight ratio in this nutrunner class.
Accuracy
This motor design simultaneously offers the advantage of improved reproducibility. In conjunction with the improved Clecomatic clutch, machine capability values are achieved that meet or exceed global standards. Such performance has previously been unknown in pneumatic nutrunners with shut-off clutch. This is evidenced by an ISO 5393 certification.
Flexibility
The clutch of the new Cleco nutrunner can be adjusted externally, allowing the torque to be read. The newly designed, very comfortable grip area offers improved ergonomics. The polymer-coated angle drives prevent damage to the workpieces and the face gearing allows the operator to adjust the output head so that they can work in the optimal position relative to the workpiece. Operators will appreciate the reduced noise emission achieved through the multi-piece exhaust air deflection. It also allows an exhaust air line to be connected, which further reduces the noise pollution. These significant improvements increase usability while simultaneously reducing operator strain.
