Rectus Sealing Materials
The Most Important Sealing Materials
| Sealing Material | Brand | Temperature Range | Properties |
|---|---|---|---|
| NBR Nitrile Butadiene Rubber | Perbunan | -20°C - +100°C | Usable with compressed air. Resistant to heat and many fluids such as mineral oils, fuel (not eco-friendly diesel), water, glycol, and grease. |
| EPDM Ethylene Propylene Diene Rubber | -40°C - +150°C | Heat-resistant and especially suitable for hot water and steam. Good resistance to brake oils, glycol, and fire-resistant oils. Not suitable for mineral-based oils and petrol. | |
| FKM Fluoroelastomer | Viton®1) | -15°C - +200°C | Very high resistance to heat and fluids including petrol, oils, eco-friendly diesel, grease, and aromatic oils. |
| FFKM Perfluoroelastomer | Kalrez®2) | -25°C - +240°C | Universal chemical resistance, good with aggressive media, high thermal resistance. Lowest swelling values with all media. |

RectuLoc
This innovative sealing process is available for all shut-off standard articles with a tapered external thread. It consists of a sealant applied directly to the thread. The connection is simply screwed in and can be readjusted without leakage even hours later. It reliably seals against gases as well as aqueous and non-aqueous liquids up to 150 bar and temperatures up to 120°C, and is also resistant to aggressive media.

Captive Seals
This fixed mounting sealing ring made of robust polymer is available for all shut-off standard articles with cylindrical external threads. The connection is screwed together as usual and reliably sealed by the ring, even when readjusted. The seal is suitable for gaseous as well as aqueous and non-aqueous media up to a pressure of 150 bar and a temperature up to 120°C and also withstands aggressive media.
